16 days, 16 days, 16 days!

There are only 16 days left until summer! Ahh! I am so excited! I have a countdown and am using it to get through each day.  I swear, next week is going to test my limits.

Although I am SO excited to move home for the summer and to hang out with my four best friends everyday, I am sad to leave Crawford.  Crawford is the residence hall I live in and my floor is incredibly close.  Most of the floor mates were in the same First Year Seminar class --I am one of the few exceptions-- and because of this we became close from day one.  As much as I am annoyed by loud rants over politics, swear words screamed down the hall and Celine Dion blasting from my neighbor's laptop, I will miss it too.  My house will feel very quiet without all of them.

On another note, I am also excited for next year! I am super pumped for my schedule this fall, no classes before 9:30 am and done by 5 p.m. everyday! I also had some good news this weekend; I am now the Multimedia Editor at the Times-Delphic, Drake's newspaper. I cannot wait to work on it next year and join the TD team!

Well, I should get back to homework.  I have to write out some developmental psych stuff for tomorrow. I have been battling a cold this past weekend. Yes, I know, my first cold of my freshman year and it is the end of April. I am going to have to call it quits and go to bed before long or I will be a walking zombie tomorrow.

Good night!

Reviews and Anticipation

I think it may be the fact that summer is a mere 21 days away, but I am really craving books and movies! Not just any old book or movie though, ones that are exciting and cannot stop until you're done!  I am so tired of reading textbooks and notes and more notes, as well as documentaries and "learning" films in class.

So I recently dusted off my Nook and have been reading again! I'm in the middle of Never Let Me Go right now.  So far, it is not living up to my high expectations.  It is going along at a slow pace and I am still not sure what exactly is going on.  It was made into a movie last fall with Keira Knightly, and I am going to watch it after I finish the book.

There are also a lot of good movies being released soon and books that are on my 'To Read' list.  Hopefully I will be able to really delve into it this summer. First off, Water for Elephants comes out this Friday. I am so excited! I read this book last month and really enjoyed it. The author, Sara Gruen, had me picturing a movie in my mind throughout the book. It also helps that I am a HUGE Reese Witherspoon fan, and I guess Robert Pattinson too ;)

Another movie, Something Borrowed, comes out on May 6th.  I saw the trailer on TV a couple of days ago.  It looks like a really great story line and I love Ginnifer Goodwin ever since seeing He's Just Not That Into You.  I freaked when I found out that the screenplay was adapted from a book and downloaded the sample on my Nook last night.  I am definitely going to purchase it with my gift card tonight!

There are also so many movies that I want to catch up on, and I won't bore you with the specifics.  I feel that I am always doing homework, and I watch TV to relax because it doesn't take as much time as a movie.  I cannot wait for this summer to come so that I can watch them all the time! 21 days, baby!

First Post!

Ahh! This is so exciting!

I have been toying with the thought of starting a blog for quite a while but never could decide where I wanted to go with it.  Tonight has been one of those very inspiring journalism nightsthe several that I have had so far have been amazingand I just knew today was the day.

I'm still not sure where I will be going with this blog, but that is the fun part.  I am learning so much as a student at Drake, not only about the world of journalism but about myself as well.  I am going to share it all here.

I am so happy right now! Haha, on a journalism rush!

good night,
